We had a wonderful holiday at Accessible Penyaringan. We’ll be back for sure! The owners, Feri and Marshall, are genuinely kind, thoughtful, and professional. Feri described us as ‘her priority’ and she truly delivered on this. Feri asked questions to find out what would help to make our stay easier and more enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble, including organising amazing onsite massages. The pool was an ideal size, a beautiful temperature and very clean. The electric hoist worked really well. This is an example of well thought-through, truly accessible accomodation. Australian hotels would do well to learn from this place. Ramps, wide doorways, large accessible bathroom, mobile in-room hoist and commode chair, night lights with buttons near the beds and a very modern one-of-a-kind accessible van. The layout was perfect for our family of four, with two people in each self-contained room. There was plenty of space - our youngest loved the separate dining room with couch, big TV and cold filtered water on tap. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, especially Feri’s famous pancakes! We loved the traditional neighbourhood. Within walking/rolling distance there is a small supermarket, NellyMart, for ice creams and supplies. Our favourite local eating place, Warung Akah, was excellent – great Nasi Campur! There is also an early-morning doughnut cart, Doughnut House Bali, within a 5-minute walk. The surrounding roads are bumpy, and uneven in parts, but with good concentration it’s easy to explore the lovely neighbourhood. There are lots of scooters whizzing around but the drivers are courteous, and they give a wide berth to people walking (and rolling!) on the roads. Feri drove us into the beachside areas for dinner, and there are quite a few accessible, delicious options. We often ordered delivery meals as well – can recommend pizza from Massimo! A brand new kitchenette has just been added for guests too. We will miss this place, especially Feri.

We want to say to everyone who is in a wheelchair or have special needs and want to go to Bali, GO. In villa Penyaringan we had a great and accessible stay. If there was something missing we could always ask, and we got it. The owners are very kind and helpfull. They make our stay comfortable with al the things we needed. We will never forget this place!

Thank you for everything!

We are really greatfull for a the things you give us to make our holiday complete!

Wheelchair holiday made easy

Left on Oct 6, 2019 for a stay in Sep 2019

We stayed with Feri for nearly two weeks. We had a great time and were very well looked after. Feri’s breakfasts were great, especially her pancakes! Their new place “Accessible Penyaringan” is basically 3 rooms. One a hotel room, one a big room with a hoist and a fully accessible bathroom and commode, and a dining/lounge room. I was really impressed how the table in the dining room changed over our first night when it was noted my sons knees didn’t easily fit underneath. Their old place Villa G at Ellora is currently rented long term and not available for holidaymakers. Girls cleaned the rooms and bathrooms at least daily and were available to help when needed with washing clothes or to clean again if there’s a spill. Feri was only a text message away to drive us around Sanur, to the beach or the shops, and to collect us as requested in her wheelchair accessible van. It was a 1.5 km from the beach but walking with a manual chair wasn’t easy on the uneven footpaths so it was easier to be dropped close to where you needed to go. Feri also helped with ordering in meals from a suggested reliable list. The pool was great. Crystal clear and cleaned every day or two by a visiting pool guy. The hoist was sturdy and a well known brand. The sling was a bit tricky but fine once we got used to it. It was about 1.5 m deep all over. We were able to hoist our son straight into the commode and into the shower. Mosquitoes weren’t a problem. We didn’t use repellent. We were often out in the pool until 9 ish. We slept with the refrigerated air con on and the windows closed and were really comfortable. We went on several day tours with Bali One Care (see separate review) who worked well with Feri and were also wonderful. A very economical holiday

We had an incredible time at Accessible Penyaringan. The villa, facilities and garden are beautiful. Very clean, organized and of course for accessibility it’s unparralelled in Bali. They have a hoist, pool hoist, commode, accessible van and ramps. The beach is less than 15 mins away and transport is provided. Feri and Marshall our hosts were so lovely and helpful. We can’t thank them enough. Also the incredible tours with Bali One Care. We highly recommend looking into Accessible Penyaringan if planning to stay in the Sanur area. Connor & Liam

From the moment  I booked accomodation there, Marshall was in contact with me, asking questions about the extent of my disability so they could have the necessary equipment in place, and any food allergies for the wonderful breakfasts they supplied each morning.

He also arranged disability transfers to and from the airport, days with Bali Access Travel and Bali One Care so we could go sightseeing, as well as providing a detailed list of accessible tours we could go on.

Accessible Penyaringan itself is a delight, scrupulously clean, and well set up for a disabled traveler. Feri made it known upon our arrival that she was available to drive us anywhere we wished to go within Sanur, at no charge. On the days we werent on tours, we got Feri to take us to the beach, then pick us up later in the day. She was even happy to get up at 5.30am one morning, so we could see the sunrise at the beach, which was one of the many highlights during our 11 night stay with them in Sanur. Feri and her friendly staff went out of their way to make our stay extremely enjoyable! Feri even bought a birthday cake on the day of my husbands birthday, which made his day when we were so far from family and friends.

Given the opportunity , we would most definitely stay there again, and would have absolutely no hesitation recommending them to friends.

The one thing I thought could be improved upon was a safe for passports etc, and 2 days after our departure they had already installed one, which was very impressive!

Pancakes to die for

Left on May 31, 2019 for a stay in May 2019

We had pleasure if staying 10 days at Accessible Penyaringan recently. Feri looked after us like we were family cooking us amazing breakfast and the pancakes were to die for. Marshall set up Netflix for our son and provided much information about what to do and where to go in Bali. Essa kept our rooms immaculate and helped wash our clothes. Feri and Essa took us anywhere in Sanur we wanted, the beach with their lovely bars and restaurants, town in their specially modified wheelchair van. Accessible Penyyaringan is situated in the local area not far from Sanur and you get to experience the real Bali not just the touristy part and Feri and Marshal will help you book taxis tours and use the local gojek app to have absolutely anything delivered food, manicures. The Villa is absolutely gorgeous has everything you need. There is hoists and shower commodes if you need them we bought our own as Mat can’t use standard ones. The pool area is lovely and has a hoist into it we spent Many afternoons relaxing and swimming while Feri and Essa bought us cups of tea and the oh so good Bali coffee. The 10 days flew past too quickly and we were back in cold Western Australia. Thank you Marshal Feri and Essa for a lovely holiday.

Just got back from 11 wonderful days staying with Marshall and Feri. Being a C5/6 quad i was a little unsure how things would go travelling overseas, besides flying my main worry was finding the right place to stay. So glad i found accessible penyaringan, it had everything i needed already there including hoist, overbed table, monkey bar, commode as well as a pressure relieving mattress which is a real bonus as well as the hoist into the lovely pool. Feri looked after us very well with great breakfasts (great pancakes) and driving us around the local area to dinners or anywhere local we wanted and great for advice. Its so nice to find a place that actually knows what "accessible" means. This will be my go to place for Bali tho i have feeling once the word gets out accessible penyaringan will be a hard place to get into as everyone will want to stay. Thanks again Feri and Marshall.

As a full-time wheelchair user, the house was perfect for my needs. There was level access throughout, a spacious bathroom with shower chair and a portable hoist and even a swimming pool with a hoist. On top of that, Feri and Marshall were very friendly hosts, willing to do anything to make my stay more comfortable. Hopefully I will get to return one day, was so impressed.

How can we help?

Left on Mar 30, 2019 for a stay in Mar 2019

Feri and Marshall are wonderful hosts with a “can do attitude “. They went out of their way to assist us whether it was to repair a wheelchair or to buy a particular item. Feri was happy to drive us to local destinations and pick us up when we were ready. If we needed to stay in she’d order food or a massage or a hair braiding for us, whatever we required. They also helped us organise day trips and when we returned from them we felt as if we were coming back home to a welcoming environment. The rooms are a generous size and well set up with the pool just outside the door. Feri and Marshall are sensitive about privacy and available when needed. In our case we very much enjoyed their company as warm, friendly and efficient hosts.

Perfect accessible Villa

Since 10 years I am in a wheelchair and still like to travel. For the third time I travel to Bali and the first time in Accessible Penyaringan for people in wheelchairs highly recommended. The Villa is located a few minutes from sanur where the owner will bring you on request with an adapted wheelchair vehicle. Huge friendly staff and nothing is too much/ also a delicious breakfast This villa has all the necessary tools such as swimming pool lift / hoist / accessible bathroom / shower chair etc. I will definitely go back.

Ideal for wheelchair travellers

Left on Feb 24, 2019 for a stay in Jan 2019

Accessible Penyaringan is a great place for wheelchair travelers - everything you need for comfort and relaxation. A separate entrance accessible to a wheelchair, a shower chair, a mobile room hoist - all this makes comfortable living possible. Wonderful pool and special electric hoist for safe water entry. I spent many hours in the pool and it was so good for my back. Special thanks to the beautiful Feri for preparing and serving breakfasts. It was a whole ceremony and it was always possible to order a method of cooking eggs. There were no problems with the fact that the villa is not located in the beach area - at any time, Feri drove me to any place in Sanur on a special car with a folding ramp. Marshall and Feri are very kind and attentive hosts. They were of great help in all matters that I had. And they did it with all possible delicacy and sincerity. I seemed to be visiting very close friends. It was a very pleasant two weeks and I would like to return there more than once.
